IN THE WATER
Walking along any of the beaches, or from one the next for a longer hike, is an enlightening experience of which you will find yourself alone much of the time. Walking all the way to the southern tip of Guiones Point at low tide, you will find a mystical pink sand beach and pink sand island! You can swim in the cove at Pelada Beach to the north. Snorkeling is another option and there are several areas accessible by boat or on foot that are suitable at the right tide.
Here in Guiones you can learn to surf or hone your expertise. Boogie boarding aka body boarding is another option for those that want to get a taste of the ocean's power but don't feel the need to complicate things by trying to stand up. If flat water is more your thing, there are canoe, kayak and boat trips to see wildlife on the Nosara River. SUP or Stand Up Paddling has recently been introduced to Nosara with several outfitters available to guide you either on the river, in the ocean or both.
